What I want them to know is just like John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa, that's the spirit that I have too. It's really about not being ashamed of America. It's embracing America.

Uh, Michele, the John Wayne from Waterloo, Iowa isn't the John Wayne you're thinking of. It's John Wayne Gacy, one of the most notorious serial killers in American history.

The other John Wayne is from Winterset, about 150 miles away. He moved when he was five years old when his name was still Marion Morrison.

To be clear here, because I sure would hate to have any Bachmannbots get pissed off at me, I'm not saying Michele Bachmann is a serial killer, or even that she believes serial killers are role models. I'm just saying that's what she said she believes.
