Hawaii Underwater - A Photo Diary

This is another one of these distraction diaries. I know I can use a brief break from the news these days as events have gone from the surreal to the completely insane.  Here are some photos of some critters and things.  I hope you enjoy them.

Na Pali Coast, Kauai

Spinner Dolphins
You can see the larger one here picking up a piece of debris on it's right pectoral fin. I call this game "Pass the Trash".  They will pick up debris on their fins, switch fins, steal it from each other, etc.  Creative minds at work.

Kahuna Nudibranch

Whitetip Reef Shark
This shark has unfortunately encountered a shore fisherman and has a large circle hook in its head.  We first saw this shark trailing the fishing tackle about three weeks ago.  It looks awful but it is possible that the shark will do ok.
