The right wing must be feeling pretty cocky today in light of the disaster that is the debt ceiling deal. Pat Buchanan just refered to Obama as "Your Boy" while talking to Al Sharpton and how Obama was "whipped" by Mitch McConnell in getting out negotiated by the Republicans.
Al Sharpton reacted with wide-eye surprise at Buchanan's choice of words and responded with a "What did you just say?" and an animated correction that Obama was "Your President" but no where close to what you would expect Sharpton to say if he was not under the current MSNBC rules of engagement which don't allow for any sort of truthful criticism. You could tell by the twinkle in Buchanan's souless eyes that he chose these words carefully for impact knowing that he would be a guest on Sharpton's show. Blows my mind to see this type of race baiting done in the light of day on a major news network but this speaks to the current state of the nation and the rift in political civility caused by the ascent of the extreme right.
The question for MSNBC is where is the line that seperates meaningful debate and coded racist speech? Buchanan has engaged in similiar antics in the past so it looks for all intents and purposes that he is given a free license by the network to spew his garbage as an attempt to maintain an image of "balance" on MSNBC.

Buchanan repeatedly uses the "Boy" phrase even after getting called on it by Sharpton. What a class act.
