Yesterday, Bryan Fischer made a pretty revealing statement on his radio show, Focal Point. He thinks a woman can only be president only if there aren't any godly men available to do the job.
If you look at the Scriptures, I believe it's clear that God has designed men to exercise authority in the home, in the church, in society, and in government. So let me repeat that - that is my personal take on what the Scriptures indicate about the way God has designed man and woman to work: God has designed men to exercise leadership and authority and headship in the home, in the church, in society, and in government.
Now then the question becomes what if God can't find any men with the spine and with the testicular fortitude to provide the kind of leadership? Well, what he'll do is He'll send a woman to do a man's job.
PFAW's Right Wing Watch got the video here:
According to PFAW, the statement came in response to several callers saying that it was unbiblical for a woman to be president. Pretty revealing, considering how much the fundies swooned over Sarah Palin in 2008 and how much momentum Michele Bachmann has gained this time around.
I wonder if Fischer is willing to make that statement to all the female legislators out there, both at the federal and state level. Should they just go home because they're only there as a last resort?
Looking at the AFA blog, Rightly Concerned, it looks like Fischer has found the guy he thinks has the spine to be president--he appears to have all but endorsed Rick Perry.
