I've been working with the Library Committee down at Liberty Plaza. We call our humble boxes of books "The Peoples' Library." The Library's original organizer, a woman named Betsy, received an invitation to go on the Alyona Show. She passed along the opportunity.
The Alyona Show is on Russian Television, but it's hosted by a young, telegenic liberal, and it has sizable reach on U.S cable networks. It was my first time doing a television in actual studio. I didn't realize that I wouldn't see my interviewer on a screen- just hear her through an ear piece. I also couldn't see myself, otherwise I would have tried to look less awkward.
In general, however, I think it went pretty well. The interview is here. Feedback is welcome. Given that Alyona is a liberal, I'm a little surprised at the union line of questioning- for me it's a no brainer that union support is welcome, but I guess even Mother Jones was raising flags about it.
I'm no Jesse La Greca, but interestingly enough, Betsy also got a request from Sean Hannity today. I think our group is just fine with Jesse handling that one.
Anyway, short diary, as I'm finally out of work and ready to head downtown. I love the uplift of the post-march buzz in Liberty Plaza.
