With Elizabeth Warren taking a clear lead over Scott Brown in new Massachusetts polling, those seeking to bring Warren down have done abrupt about-face in their attacks. Since attacking Warren for being too close to Occupy Wall Street wasn't working, Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS is now going after her for being too close to Wall Street:
This ad is ironic to the point of Orwellian. Wall Street and the uber rich are petrified of Warren and her message, so in order to keep her from becoming a senator they are running attack ads against her for being too close to Wall Street.
As dizzying and disgusting as this is, Greg Sargent succinctly sums up how it also means Warren has effectively won the argument over messaging in this campaign:
The real key here is that Crossroads went from attacking Warren as too close to Occupy Wall Street, to attacking her as too helpful to, and too cozy with, the big banks.
What does that tell you about who’s winning the argument?
Please contribute $6 to Elizabeth Warren.
