The 145,000 story is BOGUS although an excellent example of RWNM propoganda

First, an especially big thanks to Robery Oaks for catching the story.

This story is currently running under the AP banner on my Yahoo homepage.  It states every American owes 145,000 as their individual percentage of the national debt.

What Robery caught -- and what I failed to catch -- is the underlying assumptions of this projection are  bogus.  For example, it assumed the Bush tax-giveaways would be permanent.  Anyway, the numbers are basically a privitization PR campaign that was in the press.

In my own defense, there is nothing is the story that mentions the underlying assumptions.  I assumed they were accurate.
