What is she talking about?
Who knows?
Remember that one time Michele Bachmann ran for president, and for, like, five whole minutes, Republicans pretended they might actually give her the nomination?
Well, even though those days are long gone and she's back to voting on totally meaningless temper tantrum bills in the House, she wants you to know she still has an opinion about who the nominee should be:
Bachmann said today she hasn’t yet decided who to endorse [...]
Well, okay, no, she doesn't have an opinion on that. But she does have an opinion on who it shouldn't be:
Through this exhaustive process of consideration, it was strikingly obvious that one candidate could not be less acceptable to be our party’s nominee. He lacks the poise, experience and moral fiber to represent our principles and values. That candidate is Newt Gingrich.
You thought she was going to say Mitt Romney, right? Mitt the Moderate from Massachusetts. Mitt, the father of Obamacare. Mitt, who once promised to be more lefty than Ted Kennedy on gay rights and abortion. You'd think that guy would be the one Michele, founder of the Congressional teabagger caucus, would consider unacceptable for the nomination. But nope, it's Newt. Why? Who the hell knows.
11:30 AM PT: Well, this is just sad. Bachmann's campaign is denying the story:
“The Bachmann for President campaign has not issued an official statement regarding an endorsement of any current candidate in the GOP race ahead of the South Carolina primary,” said Alice Stewart. spokeswoman for the former presidential candidate. “Any information found to the contrary is inaccurate.”
Just one little problem with that:
Stewart’s new statement came from the same email address as the previous statement, but Stewart told GreenvilleOnline.com that the campaign didn’t issue it.
In the words of the latest Republican loser to drop out, "Oops."
Bachmann's not even in the race anymore, and her campaign is still an embarrassment.
