Jeff Barth is a friend of mine. He is a good, honest, decent, honorable man. He is smart as a whip. He is a dedicated public servant. And he is currently running in the June 5th South Dakota Democratic Congressional primary for the right to face Tea Party darling Kristi Noem (SD-AL) in the November general election.
Jeff is anything but a polished politician. He speaks from his heart. Both of these qualities are on display in his current campaign video:
I am pleased that this video has gathered some national media attention, from the ABC News blog, to the Weekly Standard (!), to an appearance on MSNBC today. While the coverage has been somewhat snarky, this is, without a doubt, the best campaign video that I've seen this entire cycle. It's got it all -- a Kristi Noem mannequin, straight teeth, a horse's ass, even a nuclear explosion.
Jeff is the Democratic candidate who supports gay marriage (and his opponent does not). He enjoys the support of the unions in South Dakota. He is a lifelong Democrat, and will be a strong voice for the middle class and the little guy in Congress. I am proud to be a supporter of Jeff Barth.
If you are from South Dakota, and are a Democrat or independent, please vote for Jeff Barth. And if you are not, please consider donating a few bucks via Act Blue (accessible through Jeff's website, Jeff Barth for Congress) , and help a real Democrat take back this congressional seat that was lost to the Tea Party in 2010.
