I have always been, and remain, an enthusiastic fan of alt political cartooning. I'm proud of the fact that Daily Kos features the best collection online of alt cartoonists at a time that struggling alt weeklies are cutting them out. I will continue supporting this art form at this site as long as I have the means to do so.
The cartoonists we feature on this site -- most of them accomplished and widely read in newspapers around the country -- have an assigned weekly front-page slot. They post to the Comics vertical, and site editors then move them to the front page for their assigned time slot.
I get that some of you don't like this cartoonist or that one because -- gasp! -- sometimes they post something you don't like or agree with. It's going to happen. So there are two reasonable responses when that happens -- write a reasoned comment explaining why you disagree, or simply skip the cartoon and move on to something more to your liking. But whipping yourself up into a frenzy and acting like the fate of the world hinges on a cartoon is simply ridiculous.
