Understanding Obedience’s Role in Evil – Conservative Psychological Manipulation
The Milgram Experiment, conducted in the early 1960’s, measured the willingness of study participants to obey an authority figure who instructed them to perform acts that conflicted with their personal conscience.
Nine out of twelve people, when prompted by an external authority figure, were willing to administer a believed lethal dose of electric shock. This experiment demonstrates why so many sat by while atrocities were committed in Nazi Germany.
It is against human nature to kill another human being but the military uses the principle of authority to overcome this. Units are comprised of small cohesive groups with local direct authority. Perceived authority is crucial to getting people to act contrary to their individual conscience.
Now let’s take the lessons learned in the Milgram experiment to explain how Conservatives have been able to manipulate the people of America to act and follow in a manner contrary to their own conscience.
First you deny and demoralize those who should normally command our respect, the legitimate authority figures. Calling President Obama a “liar” during a joint session of Congress was just one example of a well orchestrated plan to minimize the authority of the President of the United States. Donald Trump’s questioning President Obama’s birth right attacks President Obama’s authority as well. Ann Coulter calling the President a “retard” and others calling him a socialist, a communist, and spreading rumors that he is un-American all contribute to this plan to manipulate Americans.
The second part of the plan was to elevate “Conservatives” as being our authority. With six Corporations owning 90% of all media and being controlled by “Conservatives” it isn’t difficult for them to control the message we all hear. It isn’t difficult for them to build a network and create a phony grassroots organization like the Tea Party to reinforce their authority.
Watch the video on the Milgram Experiment below. You will notice that when the individual’s conscience about causing pain and suffering to another person kicks in it is overridden by the prompting and encouragement of the Observer urging them “to continue on.” The Observer in this situation is the “representative authority figure.” In our situation the authority figure can be media, our Church leadership, and even Conservatives that we look to for guidance and information.
Conservatives have worked for a long period of time to control all forms of authority by dominating media, influencing religion, and attacking others.
Mitt Romney met with Evangelical leaders around 2006 (The Real Romney by Scott Helman) to shore up his religious support. Ralph Reed and the Faith & Freedom Coalition politically reinforced conservative authority too.
Then, conservatives stimulated conflict to reinforce that authority more and color any opposing ideas as evil. They increased the level of despair and neediness in this country by hindering any social or economic legislation and obstructing the President. Conservatives leveraged their authority by using their power. Wealth became the only measure of authority. They became the “job creators”.
Let me paint a picture for you.
We are sitting at the electrical control table. The board reads AMERICA. We are about to give electric shocks to the poor, the sick and the elderly as we pull out their safety net and take their medical coverage away. We are about to force women who become pregnant as a result of rape to continue that pregnancy and take their choice away. We are about to limit women’s rights over their own bodies. We are about to deny the humanity of 47% of the people in this country. We are about to act contrary to our own sense of right and wrong and redistribute money from the poorest in this country to the wealthiest. Sound like the Milgram Experiment?
You don’t have to go very far to see the “Observer’s” influence. Look at the bias coverage of the Debates and the spin the media gave to Mitt Romney’s performance in the second and third debate. Look at actions of former CEO of GE Jack Welch and his attempts to discredit the numbers lowering unemployment below 8%. Look at all the media outlets that followed Jack Welch’s lead to discredit the facts. Most telling of all was this morning when I read the following statement made by Newt Gingrich whose moral background would suggest he should not be an authority on anything related to women.
Newt, speaking about the entire rape issue said the following, “Why Can’t People Get Over It?”
Newt divorced two women who became ill, one with MS and another with cancer, and then married a third woman he was having an affair with while married to the second wife.
What I hear in Newt Gingrich’s statement was the Observer (authority) in the Milgram Experiment saying, “go on and continue what you are doing”
Conservatives do not feel your pain.
They pretend to have a moral compass they do not possess.
Deny them authority over you.
Vote with “Character and Conscience”
Vote for President Obama and STRAIGHT DEMOCRAT in November.

It's time we listen to our Veterans for they speak from experience.
Note the irony of this last election as Republicans used racism and hate to try and win the election. How they used the word "Exceptionalism" to pit Americans against each other to win power here at home.
It's time to look here at home and ask ourselves "who profits from war?"
REGARDING THE FOLLOWING VIDEO:
I don't agree with the inclusion of President Obama or Hillary Clinton's images in this video but I felt that overall the video made a good point about war. We must also recognize that whenever you are attempting to change attitudes that have been there for a long time you have to appreciate the struggle and understand it doesn't happen overnight. It takes time. The President and Secretary of State have worked to reverse the direction of wars and foreign policy that was handed down to them.
With this in mind watch the following video.

Thu Dec 13, 2012 at 5:31 PM PT: Ask yourself how the Republican agenda has normed issues we once reacted to. Issues that take away civil rights, create prejudice, and destroy our collective voices.
We must continue to speak out agaisnt these issues. Issues of women's rights, Labor Unions, the poor, the elderly, and those in need...
We reject the Republican Party, the Koch brothers, and other wealthy who support them as any kind of "authority" over us and society as a whole.
Tue Feb 19, 2013 at 7:31 PM PT: Wayne LaPierre CEO of the National Rifle Association continues to attempt to play the role of "authority" and have the last word on gun violence after the killing of the kids at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Just another example of the Milgram Experiment and the power of "perceived authority" on minds of people. The voltage continues to increase...
