The American People have spoken. And overwhelmingly so.

The right’s new line: Obama has no mandate

House Speaker John Boehner, a bit later in the evening: “With this vote, the American people have also made clear that there is no mandate for raising tax rates.” And it’s everywhere on Twitter: no mandate, no mandate, no mandate. “Amazing how quickly Obama Has No Chance went to Obama Has No Mandate,” Time magazine writer Michael Grunwald noted.
[... Foxcaster Charles] Krauthammer helpfully explained on Fox News Sunday the weekend after President Bush was reelected in 2004:
I think it was a huge issue that the president was weak in his first term. He had less of the power and strength and capital, as he speaks of, than he does today. And now that he’s been elected with a large majority, or a significant majority, and with a mandate, I think part of that mandate is to get the right judges, by his likes.
Bush won with 286 electoral votes to John Kerry’s 252, and with a 2.4 percent margin in the popular vote. Obama currently has 303 electoral votes to Romney’s 206, and he’s likely to add to that the 29 votes from Florida, which hasn’t been called yet, for a grand total of 332. It’s to early to tell on the popular vote, but it will be between 2 and 3 percent.

OK, there are few "ground rules" for
what it means to have a political Mandate, from the pontificator-in-chief of GOP himself
It seems like our guy, meets their GW threshold. To spend that "Political Capital" we've all earned.
Yes, but what about that low, low margin of victory in the Popular Votes -- that the Fantasy Camp pundits keep telling us about?
It's a virtual tie, many are claiming -- and thus No Mandate.
Well, WHAT about that Popular Vote margin?

In the end, President Barack Obama won the popular vote with 50.4 percent to Republican candidate Mitt Romney’s 48.1 percent as of 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Let's see ...
50.4 % vs 48.1% So far that's a 2.3% Margin of Victory for Obama.
What was the percentage for the GW Bush Mandate? 2.4 %
Hell yes, this is a Mandate for President Obama.
Bush only won the Electoral College by 34 and that was "good enough" for him.
At worst, if Florida end up in Romney's column:
303 + 0 = 303
206 + 29 = 235
68 Obama wins by 68 Electoral Votes (vs Bush's 34)
And at best, if Florida end up in Obama's column:
303 + 29 = 332
206 + 0 = 206
126 Obama wins by 126 Electoral Votes!
Hell yes, there is a Mandate!
Don't let the reality-deniers -- Deny it.
Fair is fair.
