I just thought I'd throw up a quick diary to show off the photos I took at the last Houston Area Kossacks meet-up on February 16. Be warned, though, that I am not a pro at this. Unlike the last meet-up, where I had my photographer BF, we were stuck with my iPhone this time around. So apologies in advance if the pictures turned out kind of sucky. You can blame me!
We went to Chuy's, a Mexican restaurant in River Oaks, and I can't speak for everyone, but I thought it was a fantastic location for a meet-up. First of all, if you know nothing about Chuy's, just know this: They have the best chips. Not because of the chips, but because of the creamy jalapeño dip they bring out with the chips. It's the main reason I keep going back. That dip literally makes the entire Chuy's experience.
I left the meet-up early to drive to Dallas, so I didn't have a meal (if I did, I would have had a steak burrito with ranchero sauce--it's my favorite thing on the menu). Instead, to save time, I just skipped straight to dessert. And here's another thing you need you need to know: They have the best tres leches cake ever. That might be a polemical statement, but I'm sticking to it.

In all, if I'm counting correctly, there were twelve people at the meet-up including myself. Here's a really, really bad shot of most of the table:
We saw a number of familiar faces, including suesue and her Mr. suesue:

And that's it for the pictures! Sorry again for the quality of some of them. My BF is planning to attend the statewide Texas meet-up in Austin on March 2, so maybe he'll volunteer to take pictures then!
As for Houston Area Kossacks, we will probably be planning another meet-up for late March or early April. In my mind, if we get one or two new faces at each one, we're doing well. So far so good! Here's hoping we see this wonderful group grow even more!
In the meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing everybody at the Austin meet-up!
