A lobbyist for an NRA chartered organization in Wisconsin recently said gun-rights proponents need only wait-out the “Connecticut effect” before they can once again start passing laws to loosen restrictions on guns. The lobbyist thinks that we will soon forget what happened at Sandy Hook, and that those of us who want common sense gun laws will eventually loose interest and fade away. Then the NRA will have our elected representatives all to themselves, just the way they like it.
I think that lobbyist and the NRA need to know that this time is different. This time we are not going away.
Please help. Call, write, email, or FAX your representatives in Washington, D.C. and tell them to support common sense gun controls. Do it today. And do it again next week. And then every week after that until they get the message.
