According to an article on RT.com, a Shell Oil pipeline near Houston ruptured spilling oil into a waterway that connects to the Gulf of Mexico.
Shell Pipeline, a unit of Royal Dutch Shell Plc, shut down their West Columbia, Texas, pipeline last Friday after electronic calculations conducted by the US National Response Center showed that upwards of 700 barrels had been lost, amounting to almost 30,000 gallons of crude oil.
Shell initially claimed that inspectors found no evidence of an oil spill, but admitted days later leakage had occurred and dispatched clean-up crews to Vince Bayou.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the spill was contained and estimated that as much as 700 barrels leaked into the waterway, but admitted...
