It's right there in plain English: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to kill politicians who disagree with us, like Gabby Giffords, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
If you believe that the Second Amendment is useless unless you're assassinating politicians, then you must be an Arkansas Republican, like
this one writing in his county GOP's newsletter:
The 2nd amendment means nothing unless those in power believe you would have no problem simply walking up and shooting them if they got too far out of line and stopped responding as representatives.
Yup! That's exactly what the Founding Fathers wanted, government-by-coup. That stuff about "elections" was a typo.
It seems that we are unable to muster that belief in any of our representatives on a state or federal level, but we have to have something, something costly, something that they will fear that we will use if they step out of line.
How can we have representative government if the damn bastards don't believe we can murder them in cold blood because of a disagreement? And don't say "elections"! That was a typo.
If we can’t shoot them, we have to at least be firm in our threat to take immediate action against them politically, socially, and civically if they screw up on something this big.
But that's so much harder than shooting them, which is why the Founding Fathers wrote the Second Amendment.
Personally, I think a gun is quicker and more merciful, but hey, we can’t.
Because the Second Amendment no longer means anything. Blame the communists.
He also doesn't "feel the same way about the Democrats as bullet backstops" as he does about Republicans who vote with Democrats on some things, so ... phew?
And he's "pro-life" too, in case you were wondering.
