Hello!
No, we are not still at Glacier caught up in some sort of time warp. Unless we are.
Seriously, during our EPIC Glacier Meet Up and Adventures I had no internet or phone service. My EPIC Glacier Meet Up Day 1 Diary was created and posted by borrowing Thinking Fella's cell phone Hot Spot via the Sundance Camp Site.
The second diary "EPIC Glacier Meet Up Day 2: Where's Figgy?", was created by borrowing jakedog's "Hot Spot" also from the Sundance Campground.
Day 3 I attempted to visit Daily Kos and it was down for me. I understand it was down for some of you too. Inside Glacier National Park there are no cell towers, no internet or cell phone service 90% of the time. So no Daily Kos or live blogging as we had hoped. All combined we as a group probably shot about 4,000 awesome photos. I don't know if you have ever tried to upload hundreds of photos at a time with land line internet, but try doing so via wifi. Heh! I have a few bald spots.
Going where no alien has gone before, Joshblu braves the frigid Glacier waters of Lake McDonald.
The water is amazingly clear.
Figgy figbashing me! jakedog picked her up at the West Glacier Amtrak Station the night before.
Beautiful kossacks Blu Gal in DE, jakedog and figgy waiting to commandeer, um, rent a boat on Lake McDonald at the Apgar Village, Glacier National Park.
With our Captain jakedog we were off on an adventure.
Blu Gal in DE whom I feel in love with spotted the following two things:
Clouds that resembled a bear's paw.
A small waterfall. Woot Blu Gal in DE!
After our adventurous boat ride it was time to find Ojibwa:
At the Apgar Picnic Area, Ojibwa and state of confusion had a lovely potluck picnic waiting for us along Lake McDonald.
Kossack SnowGhost surprised us! (Blue Gal in DE, me, Thinking Fella, SnowGhost.)
After Ojibwa performed a Native American Pipe Ceremony, he grilled up some hot dogs.
Thinking Fella's Awesome Salad along with some more yummies.
A deer checking out Wally.
A raven landed in a tree and then flew away during the Pipe Ceremony. This one checked out the area as we picnicked. They are very large birds.
Beautiful places shared with beautiful friends. Having the times of our lifes. Thank you!
Stay tuned, we have more EPIC Glacier Meet Up diaries to come.
This EPIC Glacier Meet Up will be an annual event. We are now discussing a meet up again in September 2014. A four day weekend with accommodations inside Glacier National Park.
