John Boehner at his weekly press conference
earlier on Thursday, saying he thinks what Steve King said about immigrants mainly being drug runners was "offensive and wrong," and adding:
What he said does not reflect the values of the American people or the Republican Party.
True, what King said does not reflect the values
of the American people—not even the ones in
King's own district. But with House Republicans
voting in lockstep with King on immigration policy—and refusing to allow a vote on the Senate's immigration reform bill—it's hard to see how Boehner can claim with a straight face that his party doesn't share King's values.
