Received this e-mail today from Senator Claire McCaskill (D. MO) in support of Michelle Nunn's (D. GA) bid for the U.S. Senate:
Did you hear? Michelle Nunn, a strong, Democratic woman, just announced that she's running for United States Senate in Georgia.
I'm sure I don't need to tell you that running as a woman in a red state can be tough, but Michelle wants to do it because, as she says, "I've seen firsthand the power of citizens to make a difference in their own lives and the lives of those around them."
A strong candidate like Michelle gives us a great opportunity to hold onto our majority -- even in a tough state like Georgia.
Michelle Nunn needs your help to win Georgia's U.S. Senate seat. Tell her you're with her today:

Michelle started an organization 25 years ago called Hands On Atlanta to get more people involved in community service. The initiative grew into a state and national network of volunteers and eventually merged with the Points of Light Foundation.
Today, it is the world's largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, and Michelle will bring that much-needed spirit of service to Washington.
But if we don't stand with Michelle, we won't get another great woman senator. We'll get an extreme Republican, unwilling to compromise or participate in the basic governing of the country.
That's not who I want in the Senate. I'm standing with Michelle.
Join me and be a part of this race. Stand with Michelle Nunn for Senate in Georgia:

Michelle has spent her career working with people -- from all walks of life -- who wanted to improve their communities. I hope you'll stand with her to improve our nation.
All the best,
Claire
