You've heard of the Moral Monday protests in Raleigh, NC over the tyrannical control over the state legislature? Well since they the legislative session is over, the NAACP took it on the road to Asheville, NC (pop. 85,000). And those hippies turned out and did North Carolina proud.
With the legislative session over, this roving protest seems to be a popular idea. Asheville, the heart of North Carolina beer and one of the bluest parts of the state, was just aching to get involved. You can read more about it here:
Thousands Attend Mountain Moral Monday
There are plans for future protests in other cities (Charlotte is tentatively August 19) and it appears some smaller satellite protests are happening around the country.
