Surprise, surprise—someone named Sessions made a jerk of himself again. But not in a frivolous way, not in a way that should be shrugged off. As widely reported today, from unimpeachable sources, in a meeting with the president and other Republican “leaders” it was Pete Sessions of Texas who insulted the president to his face, saying “I can’t stand to look at you”. President Obama replied, as he always does when dealing directly with assholes, neutrally and with graciousness.
But that doesn’t mean we have to.
Call or write your representative and request that they introduce a Resolution of Censure against Pete Sessions. (Go here if you don’t know who your Rep is.) It’s the only thing we can do; of course John Boehner, who should be censured himself, will never let the Resolution get to the floor for a vote. But at least the gesture will have been made—and given the craven, childish insults our president has had to endure from the douchebag right wing from the very first day of his presidency, it’s long overdue.
