It has been a long year here in the ccyd household. We've taken more than our share of knocks. But I still, as I count my blessings this Thanksgiving, think we are in a good spot and getting better. Follow me after the squiggle and please share the things for which you give thanks.
I am thankful that my children and my wife are all in good health.

I am thankful we live close to my Mother-in-law because she keeps us connected.

I am thankful for the Philadelphia Orchestra, which has greatly improved my quality of life through beautiful music.
I am thankful that we were able to give my middle daughter the chance to tour Europe with a band group this past summer.
I am thankful that I could take my boys to Montana, where I grew up, and go hiking and camping in Glacier National Park.
I am thankful that my brother discovered that he had coronary artery blockage before he had a heart attack.
I am thankful that my mother is cancer-free after having breast cancer.
I am thankful that my oldest daughter got into the college of her choice, even though it is 800 miles away.
I am thankful for our close friends who live in the town where my daughter goes to college.
I am thankful for Bar Review courses because after practicing law for the last 12 years in Pennsylvania, I am going to take the Bar exam again to get into a new jurisdiction (Montana).
I am thankful for President Obama, because without his efforts I wouldn't be able to get insurance coverage due to a pre-existing condition.
I am thankful for a Democratic majority in the Senate.
I am thankful for the Tea Party, because they remind me every day why it is important for me to be a Democrat.
