So, now we are stuck with 89 Democrats voting to gut the food stamp program so that corporate agriculture can get its welfare checks on time. Well, maybe the President can do something about that.
Let's suppose that the Senate passes the 2014 Farm Bill , leaving the food stamp cuts in it. Then, the bill goes to the President's desk.
Mr. Obama has very generously issued an executive order to raise the minimum wage for federal contractors to $10.10. Now, why doesn't he go himself one better and extend his progressive creds?
Why doesn't he just veto the farm bill and tell Congress that if they want to feed corporate agriculture they're going to have to feed the poor, too?
