Twitter Seems to Be Blocked at IP Level in Turkey Now

Uodate: It is now being reported in Turkish media that Twitter has been blocked at the IP level and that people who want to access Twitter need to use VPN.

Until this evening Twitter was reachable in Turkey by anyone who changed their DNS server to Google DNS or OpenDNS.

Then for a while Google DNS was not reachable from Turkey but that stopped this afternoon.

Now it seems that twitter.com has been blocked on the IP address level -
http://status.twitter.com loads but http://www.twitter.com doesn't, and pinging status.twitter.com gets a reply but pinging twitter.com doesn't.

I haven't seen any confirmation of this in the Turkish media so far but many media outlets are now giving information about how to use VPN and other ways (apps) to reach Twitter.
