Received an e-mail today from Rick Weiland's (D. SD) U.S. Senate campaign that features his first TV ad that goes along with his theme of getting big money out of politics:
Today I will begin airing this 30 second television ad across South Dakota's airwaves.
I believe the right to represent South Dakota in the United States Senate is something that should be earned, not given. This election will be won in the coffee shops, co-ops and kitchen tables of South Dakota, not the boardrooms of Wall Street banks or the offices of oil company executives.
Next week, I will reach my goal of traveling to every incorporated town in South Dakota. And, the day after that I will be back on the road again because I truly believe that everyday citizens, if sufficiently motivated, can break Big Money’s grip on our democracy.
We can do this – we can take our country back, but it will require real effort and sacrifice from not just me, but thousands of my fellow South Dakotans. Will you please help me keep this ad up on television for the next ten days? If you can help me today by contributing to our campaign we can match the advertising campaign of our likely opponent next November.
