Received this e-mail from Senator Tom Udall (D. NM) today:
Don’t believe that the gridlock and dysfunction going on in Washington is hurting real, middle-class families?
Try telling that to Americans who still don’t have unemployment insurance because extreme Republicans -- led by Speaker John Boehner -- refuse to bring the issue to a vote in the House of Representatives.
Try telling that to Morgan S. who lost her job and wants to work, but still can’t find employment. Or Wendy B. who depends on unemployment assistance to help her pay the bills.
This month, I’m joining with some of my colleagues to urge Washington to restore the unemployment insurance for folks like Morgan and Wendy, and we could use your support. Sign our petition today.

These aren’t folks looking for a hand-out. They’re honest hard-working Americans who desperately want to work.
Unemployment insurance is a critical lifeline for those who need it most. It helps put gas in the car and pay the cell phone bill so they can look for work. Yet Republicans in the House would rather sit on their hands than do what’s right for these folks, and for millions like them -- and that’s just plain wrong.
Join me and my colleagues and tell extreme Republicans to stop the political games and restore unemployment insurance.

Thank you for your support.
