
On room in the White River Valley Museum in Auburn, Washington, is devoted to providing visitors with a sense of what the historic looked and felt like. Photographs of the displays in this room are shown below.















Shown above is a display showing the Tourist Hotel lobby. The hotel, built in 1905, had 24 guest rooms and four shop spaces. It called itself: “the only first class hotel between Tacoma and Seattle, conveniently located for the railroad traveler, being only a few minutes’ walk from the Northern Pacific depot.”






Historically, Auburn was also a railroad town. Shown above are the rail freight office and a caboose.
