Dear R&BLers:
In our never-ending effort to improve the content on Readers and Book Lovers, it gives me great pleasure to announce we have a new series and Editor forthcoming. So, check your personal streams so you don't miss the debut and succeeding installments.
Please welcome to our Weekly Magazine Schedule, Mokurai who will be bringing a weekly diary to all our Followers about Republicans, how they got to be that way and what we can do about it. Look for him to brighten up the start of each week on Mondays, at 1:00pm EDT, with Grokking Republicans
Many of you are already familiar with Mokurai from his daily diaries that kept everyone updated on the progress of the ACA signups earlier this year. But he also writes on a wide variety of other topics, from Marriage Equality in Indiana to Global Warming.
My personal favorite was Undeluding the Deluded, in which he skillfully used film, fiction and real life to show that it can be done.
How can we peel away Whites who are oppressed by Republicans from the Republican Party? Surprise! It's already happening by the millions each year.
In Zen Buddhism we call the discovery of compassion for oneself and others in the face of total denial from society either kensho (seeing your reality) or satori (sudden remembering). Christians call it conversion, and atheists might call it coming to your senses. In each of the individual cases cited below, the writer or the actual person has told us in some detail of the thought process and the human interactions that led these characters and people into delusion and then out again. In the case of mass polling, the question is not generally asked, but we do have some clues.
Undeluding the Deluded
I hope all R&BLers enjoy this new weekly addition to our series schedule.
If you have an idea for a series, please kosmail me or one of the other Admins/Editors here at Readers & Book Lovers Group and we can discuss it.
Readers and Book Lovers Group would be nowhere without its "stable" of fine writers who are producing some of the best content to be found anywhere in the blogosphere. And that's my humble opinion. But content production is only half the story of why R&BLers is the most followed group on Daily Kos. The other half is their story: the Followers and, in particular, the Commenters, without whom we have no reason to exist and for whom we work so hard to make our existence worth their while.
On behalf of the entire team -- including me -- who keep R&BLers up and running, I thank you from the bottom of my TBR pile. All of us behind the scenes never forget that reading is a political act and it's our mission to provide stimulation so that you'll continue to be politically active in a literary way.
Even into Daily Kos v. 5.0, coming to a computer near you in the not too distant future. We started at the birth of Daily Kos v. 4.0; we'll survive the next iteration and be even better!
