Yes, Hochul used to represent a conservative district in upstate New York, and at the time, her views may have reflected those of her constituents. But she's running to represent a different, much more liberal constituency now, and while she's tried to
reinvent herself as a progressive now that it's expedient, why should New Yorkers settle for that?
Tim Wu's progressive bona fides are unquestioned, and he doesn't have to pivot, elide, obfuscate, or reinvent himself in any way. He'll be an effective critic of Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who—lord knows—could stand to have someone serving as his conscience. The difference couldn't be starker: Hochul says her role would be to "support the administration." Wu, by contrast, says he'd be "an advocate for the public first and foremost."
So please give $3 to Tim Wu so that he can check and balance Andrew Cuomo.
