Scott Walker falls short on Wisconsin jobs pledge. Far short.

Scott Walker made big job creation promises in 2010 when he was running for governor of Wisconsin. He hasn't come close to delivering on those promises, though, and that could be a problem for him as he runs for re-election. Walker promised to create 250,000 new jobs—supposedly, he was going to get there by busting unions and slashing regulations that protect workers, consumers, and the environment. But just a few months before the end of his term, it's clear it's not happening.

A little more than 100,000 jobs have been created in Wisconsin since January 2011. If you're checking, that's not anywhere near 250,000. But let's bend over backwards to be fair. A governor can't overcome the national economy all on his own. So how does Wisconsin stack up to the nation and its neighbors?

Yeah, like that.

The numbers bounce around a little month to month and depending on what measure you use. But what's stayed absolutely certain at all times is the giant chasm between what Scott Walker promised and what he delivered. Why should Wisconsin voters expect him to do any better next time around?
