Did you know this? Did you know Rick Scott thinks boys and girls should be taught differently in public schools? Get your pretty little girls to sit quietly and do as they are told and let boys be boys. This is how I read it anyway.

The Volusia County school district and two other Florida school systems violate federal anti-discrimination laws by running single-gender classrooms, the ACLU charged in complaints announced today.
The latest complaint, filed with the U.S. Department of Education's civil rights division, charges that the school districts rely on "disproven notions about how boys and girls learn and develop," and that parents have "been misled about how the programs are working."
The ACLU said Volusia's classes are based on "discredited theories" about how boys and girls learn. The classes encourage teachers to instruct girls math in less abstract ways, for example, and to expect them to work quietly and want to discuss their feelings. Boys, on the other hand, are encouraged to move around more and to discuss literature in ways that does not involve talking about emotions, the complaint said
Single-gender classes have become popular in the last decade when the U.S. Department of Education eased its restrictions against them. Gov. Rick Scott in May signed legislation meant to increase boyss-or-girls-only classes in Florida's public schools.
But they have also been controversial, too, with the ACLU often arguing they violated federal laws that prohibit discrimination based on sex
The war on women is real and in Florida under Scott, it starts in Pre K.
