For the past two years, I've tried to take time to reach out to all areas of Kansas to speak with progressives around the state about what it takes to help build the party and how we can grow. On December 11, 6:30-8PM, we're having our post election meeting in McPherson County, talking about the future of the Progressive Movement in Kansas: where do we go from here?
We're updating the address, and I've got some special notes to make on this one:
Meeting currently scheduled at Deerfield Estates Clubhouse, 816 Clubhouse Dr., McPherson.
So, I want to take a moment to talk about
For many progressives around the country, the post election is a bit like holiday blues. For those in Kansas, especially so as Kansans wonder: what happened? And how do we fix it?
Since the election, these meetings act as a way to look at the results from this election, make sense of it and find a way forward - how do we grow the party, and the message? Of equal importance: WHY do we keep fighting for a progressive message in Kansas?
These meetings are generally about 40 minutes of presentation and the remainder is question and answer and a chance for us to talk amongst ourselves and our issues.
So, knowing that I'm in Johnson County on the 10th, what makes me pack up and head to McPherson on the 11th? The reason why we work to do these meetings is to bring in those who want to find a way to take their message.
This is a pot luck format, so please bring whatever you want to munch on, and we're going to have a lot of great guests here.. including candidates from the 2014 cycle and county party officers.
I've your near the McPherson area, feel free to RSVP. I look forward to seeing you there:
