TUESDAY'S APPEAL
TUESDAY, JANUARY 13, 2015
12-14373 United States v. Don Siegelman, Appellant
HEARING LOCATION
Courtroom 339
Elbert P. Tuttle United States Court of Appeals Building United States Court of Appeals
56 Forsyth Street, N.W.
Atlanta, Georgia 30303
COURT CONVENES AT 9:00 A.M.
It does not appear that he is going to be allowed to appear at his own hearing -- and if he does appear, he will probably be presented to the court in prison attire and shackles.
When Governor Siegelman appeared in court at his hearing in Montgomery in December, he was shackled and and his appearance was disheveled. I've been trying to find out who determines policy in regard to prisoner presentation in court and I've been getting a bit of a runaround, but it appears that the Marshall within each court jurisdiction has the power to determine these things -- and I don't know a damned thing about these court marshals.
More research.
In the meantime, Siegelman's locations and dispositions remain an unknown. He could be moved at any moment to God knows where -- and while he is in transit, his location is unknown.
