Rapprochement between Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas doesn't help anyone but the Regime’s religious fanatics and their allied-dictators. Yet more than anyone, Iran’s people are the losers.
This week, Al- Monitor reported that the Hezbollah-Iran bloc has started on its path to rapprochement with Hamas. That’s great news for radical Islamist terror groups, but infinitely bad news for Iran’s people.
Take a second to recall the chants heard throughout Tehran not long ago, “Not for Gaza, Not for Lebanon… Only for Iran,” when Iranians exclaimed their objection to Iran funding wars, terrorism and insurgency throughout the world. Recognize that it’s no secret—Iran’s money is being used to start and maintain Religious-Islamist insurgencies throughout the Middle East. Iran’s money is being spent on wars to impose Shia-hegemony in the region, not to extend the prestige of authentic Iranian history—starting with our pre-Islamic leaders.
Money is being spent to fill Hezbollah’s missile arsenals, not to fill classrooms and theaters in Shiraz. Money is being spent to transport IRGC commanders and cronies, not to bring world famous artists and musicians to Tehran. Money is being spent to build tunnels, hide-outs and military-style bunkers, not apartments, hospitals and sewage plants in Ghazvin. The basics.
The basics for Iranians are being further spared in order to rebuild and normalize relations with Hamas—the Palestinian version of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Take over by force, terrorize, and use aggression to stay in power. Execute dissidents publicly, steal your people’s money, impose religion, and blame others for problems in society. Sounds familiar.
Why is Iranian tax money about to be shipped off to an Arab terror organization, again, if Iranians are still struggling to pay for medicine? And rent. And chicken. And toothpaste. How is the world so complacent allowing the Regime to divert funding for its own society, to fueling murders in the name of religion elsewhere?
The past 30 odd years have been a stain on Iran’s comprehensive history—a stain that gets darker and darker with every dollar, rial, toman, pound—call it what you will—that is essentially hijacked from Iran’s society and shipped overseas to Hamas and Hezbollah. A stain that will get harder and harder to clean as it spreads.
Rapprochement between Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas doesn't help anyone but the Regime’s religious fanatics and their allied-dictators. Yet more than anyone, Iran’s people are the losers.
