Former New York City mayor and Republican ex-presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani continues to dig deeper and deeper (for no apparent reason, mind you) in his assertions that the sitting president doesn't "love America," this time with the assertion that his critiques
can't possibly be based in racism because Obama's mother was white and "most of this [Obama] learned from white people." That went about as well as the rest of Giuliani's claims, which is to say they made the people on
Fox & Friends have unseemly public orgasms but fell flat among most of the breathing population.
Now even House Democrats are piling on, because at this point, why not? Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen:
Rudy Giuliani questioned how much,or even if, President Obama loves America.Maybe he thinks he loves it 3/5 as much as Giuliani & his pals
— @RepCohen
In Giuliani's defense, he is quite possibly not at all racist, just a raving lunatic. Evidence for this theory comes via his defense of the statements on
Sean Hannity's radio show, where he asserted that "President Obama didn't live through Sept. 11, I Did." And that resets the clock of Rudy Giuliani boosting his own resume off the events of 9/11 to ... oh, who are we kidding. He stripped the gears off that machine years ago.
But see there? He's not a racist speaking in dog whistles to a far-more-racist base, he's just, medically speaking, a moron.
