I live on the west coast and one of the many things I love about living in a fishing town is looking (and laughing) at the names people give their boats. Some are named after wives or girlfriends, or have mundane names such as " Dreamer", but most people put a lot of thought into what to name their boat. How do they come up with some of the clever names I see sometimes?
Believe it or not...there are webpages devoted to clever boat names.
They list the names provided by category: clever, funny, common, cool, famous, pirate, movie, fishing, sail, and more. Have a look:
Clever ones:
Sea - esta
Fah - Get - A - Boat- -It
Break - In - Wind
E - Fishin - C
Funny ones:
Ship - Faced
Litle - Buoy - Blew
For sailboats:
Secondwind
El Viento
Zephyr
Famous ones:
The African Queen
Poseidon
The Black Pearl
It's all in a name.
But some of the best and most hilarious ones I've seen were e-mailed to me by a friend today, and became my muse for this diary, so over the orange hawser you go to see some awesome pics of delightful and funny boat names.
