U.S. declares Venezuela a national security threat, sanctions top officials
The White House said the order targeted people whose actions undermined democratic processes or institutions, had committed acts of violence or abuse of human rights, were involved in prohibiting or penalizing freedom of expression, or were government officials involved in public corruption.
"Venezuelan officials past and present who violate the human rights of Venezuelan citizens and engage in acts of public corruption will not be welcome here, and we now have the tools to block their assets and their use of U.S. financial systems," White House spokesman Josh Earnest said in a statement.
I hope all here will demand that our POTUS began labeling and sanctioning the actors in our government that have done EXACTLY what he's accusing Venezuela of, both past AND present.
Let's expand and review below the fold this latest in hypocrisy and kabuki theater.
American Officials who violate or engage in abuses, the list is as follows:
1. Undermined Democratic Process or Institutions--
2. Committed Acts of Violence--
3. Prohibited or Penalized freedom of Expression--
4. Human rights of American citizens--
5. Engaging in Public Corruption--
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Undermine Democratic Processes or Institutions: Where do we begin? Should I mention the biggest one that lead us down a path of corruption, theft and perpetual war over the past 15 years? The Supreme Court, Mr. President, in Gore v. Bush.
The anointed Jurists took it upon themselves to intervene and stop the will of We The People from being known AND implemented.
"What happened here is not the sunlight of democracy, but the dark and ominous shadows of totalitarianism." -- Vincent Bugliosi

Bugliosi followed, and like the passionate, skilled and persuasive prosecutor that he is, laid out his convincing case: that the Bush v. Gore ruling was not based on the law -- meaning that the court knowingly and deliberately nullified the votes of 51 million and stole the election for George Bush.
He concluded "nothing could possibly be more serious in its enormous ramifications. It was the biggest and most serious crime in American history. And in a fair and just world, the five Justices responsible for that decision belong behind prison bars."
Three of these Jurists are still in power and terrorizing the American people and undermining our political system, to this day.
Scalia on Troy Davis:
This Court has never held that the Constitution forbids the execution of a convicted defendant who has had a full and fair trial but is later able to convince a habeas court that he is "actually" innocent. Quite to the contrary, we have repeatedly left that question unresolved, while expressing considerable doubt that any claim based on alleged "actual innocence" is constitutionally cognizable.
Or the decision that claims
the Police have no duty to protect us.
Or the more recent decision where The Police DO NOT HAVE TO KNOW THE LAW.
Or the current AG, Eric Holder whom claims that Americans can be executed without judge, jury or even charges being brought.
"The Constitution guarantees due process, not judicial process,"
Holder said.

"From what we know so far, the memo is highly reminiscent of the torture memos written during the Bush administration, in which irrelevant U.S. cases and statutes are cited in order to give the CIA a green light," she said. "The relevant international law does not permit targeted killing far from battle zones."
Bringing us to the previous criminal cabal called
"The Bush Administration".
Reading the 499-page torture report just released by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence was a disgusting experience. Even after many years of writing books and articles about the Bush torture policy, I was unprepared for the atrocious pattern of crimes our government committed against other human beings in our name.
Oddly, Mr. President, the only person to go to jail for torture, was
the whistleblower that told We The People the truth.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Committed Acts of Violence--
How about we start listing the innocent Americans killed by the Police?
10 Shocking Examples of Police Killing Innocent People
Or list the over 5,000 (and counting) that they've executed since 9-11?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Prohibited or Penalized freedom of Expression--
The biggest crime against free speech & expression occurred under your watch, Mr. President, Occupy Wall Street.
Native Americans in "free speech zone" cage to protest Obama decision
Anti-Protest Law Passes Nearly Unanimously And Is Signed By The President
What did this magical universally-loved bill say? Well some are calling it the anti-Occupy law and it allows the government to bring charges against Americans involved in many kinds of political protest at any location the secret service, quote, "is or will be temporarily visiting." So basically if the government wants to shut down a protest, they just send a secret service officer down there to scratch his balls, and then they can start putting people in jail for a year or more.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Human rights of American citizens--
What about those Human Rights you're now gallantly trying to protect?
The first report in our multi-clinic Protest and Assembly Rights Project series calls on New York City authorities to stop the pattern of abusive policing of Occupy Wall Street protests. Lead authored by our partners at NYU and Fordham, the report released today documents in painstaking detail how the New York police and other city officials violated the rights of Occupy protesters.
Why aren't you going after the New York City Police or the former Mayor that engaged in Human Rights Violations???

5. Engaging in Public Corruption--
How about going after Feinstein and her husband's theft of our Post Offices?
Sen. Diane Feinstein's Husband Selling Post Offices to Cronies on the Cheap
To quote famed short seller David Einhorn: “No matter how bad you think it is, it’s worse.” On the “corruption among what passes for our elites” front, this story about self-dealing in the privatization of the Postal Service gives an indication of how bad things really are.
Or maybe going after our Congress?
Congress insiders: Above the law?
Martha Stewart went to jail for it. Hedge fund honcho Raj Rajaratnam was fined $92 million and will go to jail for years for it. But members of Congress can do the same thing -use non-public information to make stock trades -- and there's no law against it. Steve Kroft reports on how America's lawmakers can legally make tidy profits on information only they know, simply because they won't pass a law against themselves.
Come now, Mr. President, use the power of your pen and declare the Congress
"A National Security Threat", I dare you.
In fact, I double dare you!
Obama Administration Facilitates "Turnkey Totalitarian State"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, Mr. President, your hypocrisy is clear. The biggest National Security Threat to the American People is our own government.
Or is this meme you're pushing all Kabuki Theater to continue to fund "Color Revolutions" around the world so that our corporate overlords can control all the natural resources on the Planet?
"I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil."
Today, Venezuela is the latest target, perhaps?
Attacking Democracy: Chavez, the US, and the Destabilization of Venezuela
This is because these elections will be used as a front for an attempt to overthrow, by brute force if necessary, the democratically elected government and put in its place a government more amenable to US interests. If this sounds familiar, it should. This is precisely the same tactic tried in 2002 in a US-instigated coup that, though it briefly deposed Chavez, ultimately failed. Now, ten years later, the US imperialist ruling class is prepared to try their hand at regime change in Venezuela once more.
Sadly, thanks to Wikileaks, we know the truth now.
Documents Leaked by WikiLeaks Show an Organization Training Opposition Around the World
Hell, it's been clear to many of us, for quite awhile now, that the US Government wished to have our military as the Supreme Power on this planet. And that there was a plan laid out years ago to ensure this.
The "Global" War on Terror, PNAC, FPI, and World Military Supremacy
Is it still because of 9/11, the Global War on Terror and the terrorist group Al Qaeda, after ten years of war? Is it because of Al Qaeda and any terrorist or terrorist group, anywhere, who might be a threat to the U.S. and our “interests”? Is it because of threats from other countries such as Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela and North Korea to our homeland? Is it because of Imperialism, hegemony and colonialism? Is it because of the power of the Military Industrial Complex and the Pentagon? Or is it because the United States government, or at least the elite segment of society that controls it, want nothing less than global military supremacy and full spectrum military dominance over all land, water, air, space, and cyberspace on earth and beyond?
The answer is clear.
It's not hypocrisy but full-spectrum dominance and American hegemony that uses the guise of Human Rights, colored revolutions, Trade Agreements, etc, etc, etc to protect our Corporate Overlords and their profits.
You didn't know it, but that whole system changed several years ago. Our government, in our name, signed a document that placed corporate profits above our own democracy. The "investor-state dispute settlements" chapter in NAFTA (and similar agreements) places corporate rights on above the rights of people and their governments.
Here, have a poll, I know you love them:
