Jeb Bush and others in the GOP continue to discourage retirement, denying the economic realities of the Obama Administration and to simply ignore the facts that his brother W, and the factors that led to the recession of 2007-2008 were caused by the same policies that he and the others in the GOP race would like to return to the American people if they were elected President in 2016.
What I would propose is the policies of Robert Reich and the Democratic economic advisors. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders have so much right that would be so good for the USA, if people would simply ignore the GOP dog whistle politics and vote for their own economic interests.
Jeb Bush and the other GOP Candidates want to rob the SSN Trust Funds and turn it over to Wall Street. The fact is that the easiest way to fully fund SSN is to remove the cap from earnings, so that every worker, and every employer of every employee, pays the full amount of Social Security on every Dollar of Salary, Bonus, Earning, no matter what it is called.
Then, if there are concerns about employment, the employment age should be lowered and the benefits should be raised to encourage the baby boomers to leave the work force to make room for the Millenial generations and younger workers.
It's time for working people in the USA to join the rest of the World in providing a higher quality of life for ourselves.
If you decide to avail yourself of any educational opportunity, you will most likely be paying the bill for that expense for a good portion of your working life.
The reality is that YOU are probably not going to win the PowerBall Lottery.
You will probably be working for a company that does not offer a Pension of any kind, but may offer some kind of savings account for retirement.
You will probably change jobs every four to seven years and it is doubtful that you will be able to acquire substantial savings, or vest into, any kind of retirement.
If you wish to own a home of your own, you will be paying a mortgage, with interest for many, many years. If you don't have a mortgage, the rent on the apartment will be almost equal to the amount that you would have paid for the Mortgage, but you won't be tied down with the capital required for a down payment.
You will very likely suffer some injury or medical condition that will not be paid for by the inadequate insurance that is provided by your employer and you will have to rely on your savings to pay the medical bills.
The GOP would like to Repeal the 20th Century rather than to deal with the 21st Century! Consider some of these GOP Positions:
Privatize Social Security. Repeal Medicare, Medicaid, Affordable Care Act. Suppress the Vote, Wave the Confederate Flag. Revoke Roe v. Wade. Destroy Labor Unions. Terminate the EPA and Department of Education.
The GOP is the greatest threat to Representative Democracy our Nation has ever faced.
What does the GOP Want to Do? Fight more Wars. Destroy Public Education. Suppress the Vote.
We can provide a better life for ourselves, but only when Americans vote to improve their Own Economic Interests.
