Louisiana Governor and adult person who does not understand why we monitor volcanoes Bobby Jindal is running for the presidency. We know this because of what may be the oddest campaign announcement video ever released,
hidden camera footage of Jindal breaking the news to his not-the-least-bit-surprised kids.
Jindal: Things are gonna change a little bit, so, we're gonna be busy, obviously, this year, [unintelligible] travelings. Maybe you'll get a chance, if you behave, to go back to Iowa. Would you like that? [Kids nod.]
Supriya Jindal: [Laughing] You like Iowa, don't you.
Jindal: What do you like, what do you remember about Iowa?
Child: Popcorn.
You'd better like Iowa, kid. You say one wrong thing about Iowa and your dad's hopes and dreams get flushed down the toilet faster than that goldfish we bought you when you were six.
All right, so Bobby Jindal is now in the presidential race, kicking off his, um, kickoff not with an earnest promise to America that he understands their problems or the usual flowery language about values but with hidden camera footage of him probing his kids for good things to say about Iowa. Sure, why not.
Welcome to the race, Bobby Jindal. And for better or for worse, kids, dad will be back home sooner than you think. Sooner than he thinks, too.
