I get it, I do. Black lives matter, and responding that "all lives matter" is nothing more than silencing those with a grievance. Black Americans are institutionally sh*t on ALL THE TIME.
I even respect the protesters interrupting the Sanders rallies- no one pays attention to polite people, and asking a marginalized black population to play by white establishment rules is bullsh*t.
But why the * do you have to give the only candidate willing to acknowledge the point a hard time?
Protesting Sanders that black lives matter is like the choir turning on the preacher. Heck, he hired a #blacklivesmatter activist as a spokesperson for his campaign, and he's acknowledging that more must be done.
What I don't understand is why the #blacklivesmatter movement is only swinging for low-hanging fruit. It's easy to protest at a rally for a candidate who's on your side, and agrees with you. Why aren't these folks showing up and interrupting Clinton? Trump (the QUOTABLE racist)? Bush? Paul? Any of the other Republican clown-car occupants? These candidates won't even admit that Michael Brown was murdered, never mind the idea that the police in this country are over-militarized and trigger-happy.
Giving Bernie Sanders sh*t for not doing more to end institutional racism is like complaining your son hooked 5 bucks out of your purse when you KNOW Bank of America suckered you on a sub-prime mortgage and you're underwater on your house. All that's going to do is alienate your son, and ignore the REAL problem.
Stop giving crap to the candidate who agrees with you, and start interrupting the actual racists' rallies.
