Holy. Crap. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, once seen as one of the strongest contenders for the Republican presidential nomination, has in recent weeks seen his chances take a nose-dive, has responded with desperation, and has continued to watch his campaign go down the drain. Now it seems he's
decided to flush:
Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin has concluded he no longer has a path to the Republican presidential nomination and plans to drop out of the 2016 campaign, according to three Republicans familiar with his decision, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Mr. Walker called a news conference in Madison at 6 p.m. Eastern time.
This is stunning. As recently as
June, Walker was the leader in Iowa caucus polling. It's also beautiful to watch someone who's made attacks on workers his calling card take such a quick tumble and make such a humiliatingly early exit. Walker will be the second to withdraw from the race, after former Texas Gov. Rick Perry.
