For more than a century, the Lake McDonald Lodge in Glacier National Park has been accommodating tourists. By the end of October, however, the Lodge is closed for the season, most of the tourists are gone, the leaves have fallen from the trees, the water level in the lake is low, all of the boats have been stored for the winter, and the picnic tables tilted in preparation for snow. There is now a quiet tranquility in this place that bustled with activity just a couple of months ago. Join me below for a photo tour of the Lake McDonald Lodge area at the end of October.
