Why Does Daily Kos Tolerate a Call for an Assassination on this Site?

A little less than three weeks ago, user Tausendberg issued just such a call in this comment. Yes, it was flagged and hidden, but that comment goes way beyond the usual insults and intemperate remarks that typically get hidden. Tausendberg called for Trump’s assassination in the event he is elected President. The author later expressed regret for posting this hideous thought publicly, but was seemingly untroubled that they had had such a thought in the first place. 

This vile contempt for democracy has no place here. It is the assholes on the right that daydream about “Second Amendment remedies”, not us. That anyone who could pen such an affront to our shared values still has the privilege to comment here is shocking. 

Tausendberg, in the unlikely event that Trump is elected President, he deserves to serve his presidency free from any threats of violence against him. His election will (in this unlikely scenario) reflect the electorate’s decision, which is much more important than how you or anyone else feels about him. That’s what a real democrat believes. I don’t care how old you are or how cornered you feel, your call for violence is abhorrent and deserves much worse than merely being hidden: it deserves to be exposed. The administrators of this site need to publicly denounce and reject it and you.
