For some odd reason, weasel in a bow-tie Tucker Carlson’s website, The Daily Caller, owns the url “keitholbermann.com” That in itself is almost laughable as Keith could kick Tucker’s proverbial and probably literal butt any day of the week. So just out of curiosity, I was wondering what has been going on with our lion of liberalism and came across an odd posting on the site which had a link to an exclusive on Mediate.com. Of note was this that was posted on October 6, 2015 and I think pretty much unnoticed at http://keitholbermann.com/:
“A well-placed source now informs me that a meeting has been set between Olbermann and Lack to discuss his return to the network and his old 8:00 PM slot. This arrangement was something that Mediaite’s Andrew Kirell first wrote about as a rumor in July; when asked for comment, a network executive with knowledge close to the situation tells me, “It is patently untrue.” Said source indicates the impetus for the conversation is to jumpstart sagging ratings under Hayes, which despite an Emmy win this year has been a consistent drag on the rest of primetime since launching on April Fools Day in 2013”.
Now as always with these things, one should always consider the source. Yes, Carlson is a tool but he’s not completely crazy (I think). There might be some credence to this report, though on the other hand as the article said, Keith did pretty much napalm any relations with MSNBC. Some will say it was MSNBC’s fault with lousy support including a set that was actually falling apart during broadcasts, while others will say it was Keith being a diva. Certain things are certain. Keith knows politics, he knows how to write, and he can deliver commentary like few others can. He’s also a solid interviewer. While Chris Hayes is sharp and smart, in my opinion, he doesn’t carry the gravitas of Keith and I would be thrilled to have him back. Hopefully there’s a way to keep Hayes on board, but in my book, Keith is king.
