A new model is predicting a Democratic landslide victory in 2016.
This may be like the brave soldier who picks up the fallen flag and rallys beleaguered troops to victory despite overwhelming odds. This the rally. But there will only be victory if we make it a rout... a landslide. (Remember that the other side is counting the votes.)
To succeed, we must find words that open the eyes of those paying little attention. I fear that many of them do not understand that the beliefs and objectives of our two parties have reversed from what they were 40 years ago.

When I was growing up in The South, if you weren't registered as a Democrat, you seldom voted. The "solid south" was pure Democrat and the dominant faction within the party were the "Dixiecrats."
But today's Republican Party has been taken over by those southern "Dixiecrats."
Dixiecrats, like Alabama Democratic Governor George Wallace, were avowed segregationists and racists still fighting the Civil War. Democratic President Lyndon Johnson's 1964 Civil Rights Act was an intolerable affront to them.
By the late 70s, they were primed for "a savior." They found one in Ronald Reagan. Reagan reached out and brought these "Reagan Democrats" into the Republican Party to elect him President in 1980.
With that, the "Party of Lincoln," the business-focused, pragmatic philosophy of the Civil War to 1980 Republican Party, was largely driven out and replaced with the God-fearing activist former Dixiecrats.
Since most schools avoid history of the last half century or so, most everything learned in school about the racist, good-old-boy Democrats, is now instead true of today's Republicans.
Today's Democratic Party on the other hand is "the party of John F. Kennedy." It is Kennedy's optimistic vision of fairness, equality and progress that is the model Democrats try to follow.
So in short...
A vote for a Republican, is a vote for a return to The Confederacy.
