Daily Kos writer Mark Sumner has already covered the remark itself, but the impact of the words continues to reverberate. As a reminder, here’s Trump on Hillary during his victory speech Tuesday evening:
"If Hillary Clinton were a man, I don’t think she would get 5 percent of the vote. The only thing she's got going is the woman's card. And the beautiful thing is women don't like her, OK?"
Chris Christie was standing behind his man when he unleashed that one. Unfortunately for Trump, Mary Pat Christie was standing there too, and, as you can see in the video, the look she gave him was withering. That look has now gone viral.
And it’s not just Twitter—the New York Times covered it. So did CNN and a whole slew of other media outlets. Hillary’s campaign also put out its own video in response, using footage of the already infamous eye roll.
If Donald Trump wants to run against Hillary Clinton's gender, boy (sorry!), will that be fun.
And, for anyone interested, I discussed yesterday’s elections, including the eye roll business, in an interview on France 24 English. Video is below:
