Let me repeat that for emphasis. This is not all primary voters. This is 33% of Sanders voters who would vote for Trump over Sanders! Sort of puts a new spin on that elect-ability argument. Right? Put another way, 85% of Clinton voters support her over Trump, 60% of Sanders voters support him over Trump.
Steve Kornacki showed a breakdown briefly on MSNBC, but then they cut to Sanders’ victory speech.
UPDATE: The number in CNN exit poll data is 33% but NBC News is still reporting it at 39% instead:
In fact, 39 percent of Sanders voters said they would vote for Trump over Sanders in the fall. For Clinton, nine percent of her voters say they plan to come out for Trump in the general election.
CNN data shows 33% of Sanders voters, 17% of voters, are Trump supporters voting against Hillary. Considering that Bernie won by 15% in West Virginia, or around 51% to 36%, this is not insignificant. Kornacki might be adding the 7% of Sanders voters who’d vote for neither to get 39% shown above.
Since some still aren’t following, let’s put it this way, 11% of Dem primary voters didn’t vote for either Sanders or Clinton, almost all of those support Trump over Sanders as do 33% of Sanders voters and 16% of Clinton voters. Clinton voters have by far the strongest support for Bernie over Trump!
Anyway here’s the CNN exit poll data:

Most Democratic primary voters who voted for neither (11%) support Trump.
Hillary Clinton did not see a similar effect. Only 10% of her voters would abandon her for Trump.

Most Democratic primary voters who voted for neither (11%) still support Trump.
These are exit polls, there is rounding involved and a margin of error, but 33% vs 10% is huge.
It also explains why WV voters who think the next president should be less liberal than Obama, which was 41% of all voters, preferred Bernie with 51% to Clinton with 27% unlike other states.
The next president should (regarding Obama’s policies)?
