As part of its continued outreach to Latino voters, the Democratic Party’s latest radio ad features Sen. Tim Kaine, the vice presidential nominee, speaking Spanish in a 60-second spot.
In the ad, Kaine, who is fluent in Spanish and often speaks it on the campaign trail, refers to the time he spent in Honduras with the Jesuits when he was 22. He spent nine months in the country. The ad is running in some of the Democrats must-win states, including Florida, Ohio and Nevada.
Among Latino voters, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has a significant lead over Republican nominee Donald Trump. Based on last week’s poll by Latino Decisions, a political polling firm, “Clinton is poised to win the votes of 70% of Latino voters compared to 19% for Trump.”
