Below are some comments from the Jewish architect who designed buildings for the Trump National Golf Course and who Trump almost put out of business after cheating him on payments:
"However Donald Trump, and his organization's way of managing relationships with professionals, contractors, vendors - is driven by an aggressive machine - motivated by an infatuation with money... without regard for the value of the work, the responsibility to honor agreements, or fairness to those who worked hard on Trump's behalf.
…
Mr. Trump should not be a presidential candidate. His behavior is disgraceful... The bizarre nature of his inflated ego, his lack of patience and ability to listen to others, his distorted instinct to measure all matters in only monetary terms - are disqualifying realities. He wants to win the race, but I am reasonably certain that in his heart, he does not want to do the job."
Here’s some background:
Trump employed his firm to design the clubhouse of the Trump National Golf Club in Westchester, New York. Visibly distressed by the memory, Tesoro asserts that after he completed work on the project, sent in a bill, and saw it go unpaid, Trump sent several members of his staff to convince Tesoro to accept a much smaller fee for the work – “a little more than a third of what we had billed” – which, after Tesoro reluctantly accepted the terms, still went unpaid.
“I met with Mr. Trump in his office,” Tesoro said, “and he said, you know ‘I really don’t think I should pay anymore, because I spent too much on this building.’” Trump, he said, offered to pay half of what his associates had previously offered.
“Mr. Trump’s attorney said if I were to sue the Trump Organization I would probably get that money,” Tesoro continued, “but he made very clear to me that it was his job to make sure that it took me so long and so much money that I was probably wise to accept this very meager sum of money.”
Trump is a man who knew he owed the money. He knew it was legally and morally required of him to pay. He just used his status as a fatcat bully to steal from small businesspeople.
THAT is the problem with our economy writ large, as all small businesspeople know. China is no longer taking our jobs, that's so 20th Century. Nowadays China is too expensive for those low wage jobs, take a look at your tshirt labels. Trump IS the problem with our economy, far more than the competitors overseas that he tardily demonizes in order to divert the blame he should be pinned with.
