Rep. Joe Seiwert is not a stranger to trouble in the Kansas state house. When the representative decides to step in it, though, he does it with gusto.

Seiwert, a Pretty Prairie Republican seeking re-election against Democrat Clifton Beck of Wichita, commented under a photograph of performer Denasia Lawrence and a headline that said, "I'm so sick of these anti-American blacks — f--- Black Lives Matter." The actual post didn't delete letters from the offending word.
"Go back to where you claim home," Seiwert said on the Facebook thread. "So, if they don't like it here, I believe that their freedom completely allows them to go wherever they believe is more fair and non-racist."
The Representative was discussing his opposition to a player taking a knee for the National Anthem. In an interview with Tim Carpenter of the Topeka Capitol Journal he continued:
Most reaction to his comments are positive, he said.
"I'm not a racist. I believe in freedom," he said. "It offends me when people disrespect the flag. If unhappy, move to somewhere where you're happy."
Rep. Seiwert rarely stays out of trouble. In the 2015-2016 cycle, he proposed rules that would block state employees from having yard signs or writing letters to the editor. Prior to that, the Pretty Prairie Republican had sent out an email noting that persons who practice Islam could not be “good Americans” while being Islamic at the same time.

Rep. Joe Seiwert, a Pretty Prairie Republican re-elected this month to another two-year term, sent an e-mail recently to about 40 people indicating Muslims couldn't be considered U.S. patriots because they owed their allegiance to Islam.
The representative offered the same excuse in 2010 he’s offering now: “No offense was meant”.
Moderate Republicans, who have struggled to denounce retiring legislator Peggy Mast, who was caught invoking Hitler on her home page, and of course Donald Trump, have yet another member of their own in-state party who is working to show that salvaging the Republican brand is going to be a really, really tough road ahead.
In the meantime, Democratic party members hope this will help influence some and help Democratic candidate Clifton Beck. www.facebook.com/...
